Role: Freelance Innovation Grant Application Writer

About You:

  • Familiar with working as a consultant or advisor to private sector organisations external to your own.

  • Experienced in writing for business, either for sales proposals, bids, tenders or grant funding.

  • Passionate and interested in technology and innovation.

  • Available February onwards to support in an ad hoc manner as client work requires. Typically, this could be 3-4 days a month going forwards.

About the Role:

Innovation grants are project based grants and that project needs to be described in detail in the application.

After a detailed brief from a client you would be expected to draft the application form in line with specific evaluation criteria dictated by the funding body.  Topics covered would include, the problem being addressed, the project to be undertaken, market research, risk management, project management and explaining planned project costs.  Some internet based research may be required as part of the project.

You do not require an in depth financial knowledge as clients complete this element of the application themselves.  We provide the words that bring those numbers to life.

The role can be done largely remotely, but the initial briefing is always done face to face in London.

Full training will be given.

About Us:

We are growing rapidly and in a short period of time have established strategic partnerships with several tech startup and scale up ecosystems around London, with more in the pipeline.  To grow the business and take on more clients we need to build a team of freelance writers.

We work with startups and SMEs across all industries who have novel and innovative ideas and want to apply for non-equity diluting funding to take their ideas forward.  Funding may be from organisations such as Innovate UK, Department for Transport, European Union etc.

Our business has various spikes in demand around submission dates for particular funding rounds hence the freelance, ad-hoc nature of this role.

We are very supportive of people returning after a career break or those looking for a change in career direction.

This is a freelance role and you would be paid on a price per piece of work using £250 - £400 a day as a guide based on experience.
